“The Platinum philosophy of truly catering to the customer and helping them be successful 100 percent of the time is long overdue.” Dave Band, CEO, Platinum Medical Parts

Platinum Medical Parts was founded to revolutionize the after-market services business based on one simple principle: superior service.

The company’s executive team is comprised of seasoned veterans in the healthcare market. Their personal experiences as vendors, engineers and advocates produced deep dissatisfaction with prevailing practices in the after-market services business. In particular, the company’s founders felt that antiquated ordering processes and heavy restocking fees were undercutting the tremendous value of after-market parts and services to customers. They came together to found Platinum Medical Parts — a company with an entirely new service model.

Some of the things that distinguish the Platinum Medical Parts business model include:

  • A customer-centric approach, which means a steadfast commitment to getting customers up and running as fast as possible.
  • Putting experienced field-trained service engineer on the phone with every customer who calls to order parts
  • Offering Hero Kits for after-market service providers (an industry first). The Platinum Hero Kits are designed reduce repair time as well as hefty restocking fees.
  • One of the largest inventories in the after-market industry, to ensure that customers have the parts and systems they need, as quickly as they need them.

Platinum Medical Parts is a parts remarketer for the market-leading MR scanners. The company’s customer base is in-house biomedical engineers and third-party service providers and imaging centers of all sizes. Platinum is a U.S.-based company with a global customer base.

“For years, remarketing companies have held customers captive with an antiquated parts ordering process. The old model imposed heavy restocking fees on customers, essentially penalizing them for making the wrong parts choices. The Platinum Medical Parts model is tremendously appealing for customers because we pair expert engineering support with parts ordering to try to ensure that the customer makes the right choice, to get up and running faster and save money.”

Our Management Team

Jeff Fall, President, Co-Founder

“The Platinum difference is uncompromising integrity in every aspect of our business. For me, nothing is more important than upholding the trust that customers have in us.”

Jeff is president and co-founder of Platinum Medical Parts. As a long-time advocate and vendor in the healthcare industry, Jeff is passionate about raising the bar for quality and service in the after-market parts and services business. Jeff began his career in the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (formerly the Health Care Financing Administration). He spent several years working for a Midwest-based hospital group that is now a part of Trinity Health, one of the largest hospital groups in the U.S. During his tenure, Jeff played a key role in the start-up of the first mobile imaging company in the state of Michigan, helping to craft the Certificate of Need (CON) regulations that are the model for the rules that the Michigan Department of Public Health uses today. Jeff went on to found Imaging Systems International, and in 2007 he founded Platinum Medical System, a company that embodies all of the qualities of integrity, service and value that Jeff has advocated throughout his career.

Jeff also serves as the Ethics Chairman for The International Association of Medical Equipment Remarketers and Servicers (IAMERS), an organization that works closely with the US Food & Drug Administration and the US Department of Commerce to encourage competition that benefits the customers. The organization is a strong voice in the healthcare marketplace, helping to ensure that pre-owned medical equipment remains a trusted and valued alternative to expensive new equipment.

David Band, CEO

“Building quality relationships is a cornerstone of the Platinum philosophy. We are committed to building lasting, loyal relationships with customers and partners by delivering consistently excellent interactions and results.”

Dave Band is chief executive officer of Platinum Medical Parts. As CEO, Dave oversees strategic relationships with third-party service providers, OEMs, and leasing companies. Dave’s goal is to promote a more cost-effective and efficient business model in the MR and CT parts after-market.

Dave is also the founding president of IAMERS, which has grown into a significant force in the after-market services industry. Dave continues to champion the growth of an active, secondary market that allows healthcare providers to realize operating efficiencies from lower-cost alternatives as well as receive real value from equipment they no longer require.

Scott Simmons, Vice President, Co-Founder

DOTmed Certified: Platinum Medical Parts, LLC“My goal is to ensure that customers associate the Platinum name with the highest standards for service in the industry. That means quality parts, the best value, and above all, the best service experience for customers.”

Scott is vice president and co-founder of Platinum Medical Parts. He has been a field engineer for imaging systems for over 15 years. Scott began his career in the biomedical department for the largest hospital system in North Dakota. Based on his engineering proficiency and almost uncanny ability to diagnose elusive problems in magnets, the hospital selected him to be responsible for one of the most sophisticated pieces of medical equipment ever acquired by the hospital, a linear accelerator for cancer treatment. Prior to co-founding Platinum, Scott provided engineering support for an after-market services company with sites throughout North Dakota, including responsibility for the procurement and maintenance of its mobile imaging systems. Logging long hours of “windshield time” and keeping dozens of scanners up and running around the state left Scott determined to makes things easier for service providers and customers. He co-founded Platinum Medical Parts to make that commitment a reality.
